Privacy Policy
Stridefly helps you track your net worth, spending, and investments. This policy explains what information Stridefly processes, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Where your financial data lives
Accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, positions, and net-worth history are saved on this device and in your iCloud account, whether or not you sign in to Stridefly. Apple handles iCloud data under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Stridefly does not operate a financial database that stores your balances, positions, or transactions.
Information we handle
The information Stridefly handles depends on the features you use. It may include:
- Account and profile information, such as your name, email address, account identifier, and preferences.
- Financial information you add or choose to connect, such as accounts, balances, positions, and transactions.
- Technical and usage information used to operate, protect, and improve Stridefly, including optional analytics and diagnostics.
- Information you send us, such as waitlist details, support requests, and feedback.
We use this information to provide features you request, maintain security, improve Stridefly, respond to you, honor your communication choices, and meet legal obligations.
Connecting an institution with Plaid
Connecting a bank or brokerage is optional. When you connect, you sign in through Plaid or your institution—not through Stridefly. Stridefly never receives your login details.
Plaid processes information for the accounts you choose and sends it to the app through a service we operate. Financial data passes through that service when you connect or refresh an account. The service does not retain copies of your balances, positions, or transactions. It retains encrypted connection credentials and cursors, plus limited identity and device information needed to operate connections and notifications.
Plaid handles information under its End User Privacy Policy and End User Services Agreement. You can disconnect an institution from the app at any time.
Signing in with Apple
If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide Stridefly with an account identifier and the profile information you choose to share. Apple may let you share an address that forwards messages to you instead of your personal email. We use this information to manage your Stridefly account and honor your communication choices.
You can use Demo mode without signing in or connecting an institution.
Analytics
Optional analytics help us understand which features are useful and where the app needs improvement. Analytics are off until you turn them on. The app may ask after you complete a connection or successfully import transactions, not during onboarding, and you can change this choice in Settings. Analytics are anonymized and cannot include your financial data or account details.
On this website we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. The app setting above does not apply to it.
How we use and share information
We never sell your personal information or share your financial data for advertising or marketing. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.
We use service providers to operate Stridefly and the features you choose. Examples include:
- Apple for iCloud account sync, Sign in with Apple, notifications, subscriptions, and Apple diagnostics.
- Plaid for connecting institutions and syncing account data.
- TelemetryDeck for optional, anonymized analytics.
- Cloudflare for the website and supporting services.
- Market-data services for quotes and company information.
Service providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. The providers Stridefly uses may change as the app evolves.
Retention and deletion
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Stridefly, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. How long we keep it depends on what it is and why we use it.
Erase device data removes synced and manually added financial data from the your device and its iCloud copy. You can erase device data from Settings.
Delete Account removes your entire Stridefly account, disconnects your institutions, and erases financial data from your device and its iCloud copy. You can delete your account from Settings. This cannot be undone.
You can disconnect an institution or remove an account at any time without deleting everything else.
Security
We encrypt data in transit, encrypt stored institution-connection tokens, and use Apple security features for sensitive values. You can also protect the app with Face ID. No system is completely secure, so we limit the financial information our systems retain.
Who can use Stridefly
Stridefly is intended for people 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Joining the waitlist
If you join the beta waitlist, we store what you enter on the form and the time you signed up. Cloudflare processes the request as our website provider. We use your email for Stridefly beta updates. You can ask us to delete your waitlist entry by emailing [email protected].
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Stridefly, its features, or its service providers change. We will post the updated policy here with a new effective date.
