Looking for a Mint alternative?

Mint was a budgeting and net worth dashboard, and Intuit closed it and pointed its users to Credit Karma. If you invest across several accounts, here is what to look for in a replacement and where Stridefly fits.

What Mint is built for

Mint pulled bank, card, loan and investment accounts into one view, with spending categories, budgets and a net worth figure. It was a dashboard first: a quick way to see where your money was and where it went each month.

Intuit announced in October 2023 that it was reimagining Mint as part of Credit Karma, and told Mint users how to download their data. The features Intuit lists for Credit Karma are net worth tracking, spending, transactions and cash flow. Investment positions and allocation aren't on that list, so people who invest may want to look further.

Where investors run into limits

  • Positions and allocation aren't among the Credit Karma features Intuit lists in its announcement: net worth tracking, spending, transactions and cash flow.
  • Moving history is harder than it looks. Copilot's help center says CSV and XLS imports aren't supported for investment accounts, and Empower's says it doesn't allow importing historical data from Excel or other documents.

What Stridefly adds

Stridefly is one option for investors. Here is how it answers each of those points.

  • Positions across brokerage and retirement accounts, allocation by asset class and sub-class, targets you set, drift and a rebalance plan listing buy and sell amounts. It is arithmetic against your numbers, not advice.
  • CSV import for positions, transactions and net worth history, with skipped rows listed. We haven't tested it against a Mint export.
  • Your data on your phone and in your own iCloud account. Connections pass through a service we operate that does not keep copies of your balances, positions or transactions. We never sell your personal information.
  • Budgets by category, monthly or annual, and one net worth figure across bank, card, brokerage, retirement, property and loan accounts.
