FAQ

Questions people ask about Stridefly

Stridefly is a budget, net worth and portfolio app for your phone, in private beta. Here are straight answers to the questions we hear most, including the ones where the answer is "not today."

The basics

What is Stridefly?

Stridefly is an app for your phone that brings your accounts, budget and investments together, so you can see net worth, spending and your portfolio without updating several apps and spreadsheets.

What is the private beta?

Stridefly is available to a small group through TestFlight, Apple's testing program. Join the waitlist and we will email you when a spot opens.

What happens when the beta ends?

We're running the beta to gather feedback and improve Stridefly based on what testers tell us. When it's ready, we'll launch it publicly on the App Store and email everyone on the waitlist and in the beta. We're aiming for later this year.

Platforms and availability

Is there an Android app?

Not today. Stridefly is an iPhone app and needs iOS 18 or later.

Is there a web or desktop version?

No. Stridefly is an iPhone app. There is no web or desktop version today.

Does Stridefly work in Canada or outside the US?

Not today. Connecting a bank works with US institutions only.

Banks and accounts

Which banks and brokerages can I connect?

Stridefly connects through Plaid to supported US institutions, bringing in transactions and investments. Whether your institution is supported depends on Plaid's coverage. To check yours, search US institutions in Plaid's coverage explorer (plaid.com/docs/institutions).

What if my bank isn't supported?

Add the account manually, or import transactions or positions from a CSV file.

What kinds of accounts can I track?

Cash, credit, investment, retirement, health savings account (HSA), 529 education savings and UTMA custodial accounts, plus property and loans that you enter by hand.

Trying it and moving in

Can I try Stridefly without connecting anything?

Yes. Demo mode lets you explore with sample data from three sample households.

Can I import from a spreadsheet or another app?

Yes. Transactions, positions and net worth history can each be imported from CSV. Most transaction formats are detected automatically.

Privacy

Is my data safe?

Your accounts, balances, transactions, budgets and positions are saved on your phone and in your own iCloud account. Stridefly does not keep a database of your balances, positions or transactions. When you connect a bank or brokerage, you sign in through Plaid or your institution, and Stridefly never receives your login details. Your financial data passes through a service we operate on its way to your phone. That service does not keep copies of your balances, positions or transactions. You can also lock the app with Face ID.

Do you sell my data?

No. We never sell your personal information, and we don't share your financial data for advertising or marketing.

Does Stridefly see my bank login?

No. You sign in through Plaid or your institution, and Stridefly never receives your login details.

Are analytics on?

No. Analytics are off until you turn them on. They are anonymized and cannot include your financial data or account details.
