Stridefly lets you set a budget by category for the month or for the year, then shows spending against it. The budget sits in the same app as your accounts and portfolio, so your spending and your net worth are in one app.
Some costs are monthly and some arrive once a year. Stridefly handles both: set monthly amounts by category, or an annual amount for the ones that do not fit a month. You can also let unused money roll over to the next month when you want. Home shows this month's spending against your target at a glance.
Budget overview
The Budget tab has an overview and a transactions view. The overview breaks spending down by category against your targets, and lists your top merchants, so you can see where the month actually went. Categories without a target are tracked, so they still count.
Moving money between your own accounts is not spending, and Stridefly does not count it as spending. Transfers, taxes and rental property each have a group, so they stay out of the way of everyday categories while remaining visible.
Spending by group
You can edit categories, create rules, and manage merchants. Stridefly can auto-categorize transactions and puts them in a review list so you confirm what it did. See Transactions.
Stridefly does not compare you to other people or label spending as good or bad. You set the targets. The app reports how the month stands against them.
